The principal aim of this thesis is to valuate the heat transfer improvement in a square horizontal duct by electrohydrodynamically-induced impinging liquid flows array. The working fluid is HFE-7100 by 3M.A 500-12000 range of cross-flow Reynolds number has been tested. In all cases heat transfer improvement is not less than 400%. Cross-flow Reynolds number augmentation takes to an homogeneous Nusselt number at the wall. Various specific heat and both injection polarities has been evaluated, with expected results of non dependencies of heat transfer to specific heat (forced convection) and best results with injection of ions of polarity -. Results are qualitatively compared to precedent work concerning ion injection and array of impinging jets.An analysis has been done about pressure losses and power consumption in the duct, comparing theoretical and measured results without injection to measured ones with electrohydrodynamically-induced jets.Finally are presented some indications for future works.
